Surprise, enliven and meet

We want to make this area an attractive, green and sustainable neighbourhood. Therforere it is important that it becomes a neighbourhood where 

• the buildings and public spaces contribute to residents being able to meet each other and move around;
• there are recognisable entrances and public spaces;
• there is a different range of housing where different materials are used;
• there will be different functions at the squares near the Brikke building and at the Eiffel;
• there will be accents and art in buildings or public spaces;
• attention is paid to climate adaptation (heat stress, water management), biodiversity and nature 
  inclusiveness and a high quality and green development of public space is created.

In addition to housing, there will be a public bicycle shed and a parking garage for about 900 cars. This car park will be for residents and visitors to the city. 

Tender 

The tender will start in June 2025. We want to challenge the market to come up with creative solutions and distinctive architecture. There must be attention for greenery and for different housing types and bridging the difference in height at Blanche Dael. Ideas were also collected from residents and entrepreneurs in the neighbourhood. Wherever possible, these ideas were incorporated in the request to market parties. When assessing the plans, value is assigned to parties that respond to these ideas as much as possible.

Temporary car park Frontensingel

The parking spaces that are currently there behind the Eiffel building will not be available during construction. Therefore, more parking spaces have been created temporarily on P Frontenpark. This extension will be in use by June 2024, and car park Sphinx will remain in use until construction starts.
